Umbrella, together with the
Polish Centre for Testing and Certification (PCBC)
and Polish Chamber of Commerce (KIG) constitute the
EFQM National Partner Organization in Poland (NPO).
The NPO represents the European Foundation for
Quality Management in Poland and is responsible for
providing recognition at the two lower levels of the
EFQM Recognition Scheme.
The EFQM Recognition Scheme and the number of points
required at each level as the overall outcome of
assessment against the 9 Criteria of the EFQM
Excellence Model is presented below:

750 EEA Best European
Organizations
550 Recognized for Excellence Very good European
Organizations
300 Committed to Excellence At the beginning of
the journey to Excellence
"Committed to Excellence"
Committed to Excellence (C2E) is designed for
organizations that are at the beginning of their
journey to Excellence using the EFQM Model. To be
recognized at this level, an organization has to
carry out self-assessment, prioritize and plan
improvement actions and deploy them within a 6 - 9
month period. The Application is a 12-page form
containing self-assessment and planned improvement
actions and is to be submitted to the National
Partner Organization twice - first, when the
improvement actions are planned, and then when they
are deployed - the Application form has to be
updated with information on implementation of
improvement actions, achieved aims and results.
Once the improvement actions are deployed, the
organization hosts an independent Validator who
reviews their improvement plan. The 1-day visit is
an inherent part of the application process and the
decision on recognition depends on its outcome.
After the visit, the applicant receives feedback
report from the Validator.
"Recognized for Excellence"
"Recognized for Excellence" (R4E) is designed for
organizations that have well developed management
systems and experience in systematic organizational
improvement based on the EFQM Model and achieve good
results.
Applicants are offered a choice of 2 approaches: the
classical and the flexible.
The classical approach requires applicants to write
a submission document in either a pre- determined
format of 45 pages. The submission document is
evaluated by a team of Assessors and then verified
and complemented during the site visit.
The Flexible approach requires a synthetic, shorter
submission document and assessors undertake a real
time assessment on site. After the site visit,
assessors provide the applicant with a feedback
report containing information on the organization's
strengths, areas for improvement and score. The
minimum score required to be recognized at this
level is 300 points (on a scale of 0-1000).
Depending on the outcome of the assessment, the
applicant is qualified for an appropriate sub-level
marked with 3-5 stars:
Awarding recognitions
Organizations can apply for "Committed to
Excellence" and "Recognized for Excellence" at
anytime throughout the year.
Successful organizations receive a certificate from
the European Foundation for Quality Management and
are able to use the recognition insignias in their
commercial and promotional efforts. EFQM and the
National Partner Organization publish information on
successful organizations in their Internet services
and publications.
Formal and financial requirements for applicants as
well as support offered by the National Partner
Organization can be found in informational brochures
"Committed to Excellence" and "Recognized for
Excellence". These brochures can be downloaded from
the website of the National Partner Organization
www.efqm.pl.
The European Excellence Award (EEA)
The entire process of applying for the European
Excellence Award is executed directly by the
European Foundation for Quality Management and the
National Partner Organization does not participate
in it. The entire process is carried out in English
and deadlines for submissions, applications and site
visits are determined by the EFQM and published on
the website www.efqm.org.
