Umbrella –Association of Consultants was founded in 1999 to pursue the advisory activity of the Umbrella Project. By virtue of the decision of the Polish government and the UNDP, the Association was given access to the attainments and potential of the Umbrella Project. The Association and the Project coexisted and cooperated until mid-2004, when the Project completed its mission. The Association continued with its independent non-profit activity connected with projects co-financed by the EU funds and focused on implementation of up-to-date management methods and development of the national database of consultants.

Umbrella Consulting Ltd has started its advisory activity in 2005. It has emerged from the parent organization Umbrella - Association of Consultants with the aim to provide new market advisory services in :

• Implementation of management systems

• Management system improvement

• Implementation of the EFQM Model

Umbrella’s customers are organizations of different sizes, public and private, producing, trading and service companies as well as public administration organizations – at the level of the government and local government. Many national organizations took advantage of the assistance of Umbrella’s consultants with implementing quality management systems and were then awarded with certificates of compliance with the ISO 9000 standards. We are the national leader in implementing quality management systems in public administration offices.
With the assistance of Umbrella many public organizations, among others the Ministry of Justice, the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, government agencies, Voivodship and Marshal offices implemented ISO 9001:2000 systems and received certificate of conformity with the ISO 9000 standards. We help our customers to improve their management system using the criteria of the EFQM Excellence Model. Some of our customers have been awarded with prestigious recognition by the European Foundation for Quality Management.

Umbrella cooperates with over 30 highly experienced consultants spread all over the country. More than 20 of them are qualified lead auditors having certificates and references of recognized European certification organizations – British, German and Polish.

Umbrella’s consultants participate in projects conducted by international organizations such as the World Bank, Phare, the European Union within the framework of the European Social Fund (EFS), the Kingdom of the Netherlands MATRA and the European Foundation of Quality Management (EFQM) in Brussels.

We cooperate with international organizations such as the European Foundation of Quality Management (EFQM), Japanese organizations– Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Japanese Standards Association (JSA) as well as with Polish organizations including the Association of Economic Consultants (DGA), the Polish Centre for Testing and Certification (PCBC), Bureau Veritas Polska (BVQI), the Committee of Polska Nagroda Jakości (the Polish Quality Award)… Read more: Our partners

Our cooperation with many IT companies allows us to choose an IT system supporting the process management which is perfectly adjusted to the needs and expectation of the customer.

Every year since 1999 Umbrella organizes the International School of Quality – a cyclic conference in which participate national and international experts in management. Umbrella –Association of Consultants and Umbrella Consulting Ltd have received the certificate issued by the Polish Centre for Testing and Certification (PCBC) which confirms the conformity of the implemented quality management system with the ISO 9001:2000 standard.

Umbrella – Association of Consultants acts according to its Statute, based on the organizational structure, areas of responsibility and competences which are approved by the Management Board.
